From the very beginnings...

Hello, welcome back everyone, its been a long time as I was busy with exams. Anyway, in the previous blog, we started a long journey to the edge of the universe. The universe is a very vast place filled with billions of galaxies including our own Milky Way galaxy. It would take more than the entire history of humans to even go through the list of galaxies. So this blog is not enough to cover everything, but I'll try my best to acknowledge you about the wonderful universe we exist in.

The Milkey Way Galaxy

Before we start to understand what the universe is and how it began let's first look in the mirror and figure out who we really are? We are the advanced species of the Apes, called Homo sapiens. It’s the scientific name for humans, Homo is the name of genes we carry and sapiens is our species’ name. humans (modern) evolved some over 800,000 years ago. Back then we were hunters, over the years we used our mind to develop weapons to hunt animals, to survive on the planet. After some hundreds of years later, we started exploring the world, it is said that the humans originated from Africa and by exploring the world we spread out across it. The tiny rock covered with evolved species. This spreading created geographical groups, and over the hundreds of years, each group surviving in its own environment Thus came the diversities and differences we experience among us like shape, size, diet, preferences, etc.

Human Evolution

The reason why humans flourished over the years is the brain. We are very good to analyze and compute our surrounding, we can also find patterns and predict some events in the future like when is next rain coming, How long winter will last(by the way winter is gone). In short, we predicted all the seasons. But we often forget that we are still living under the mercy of nature. Due to the natural balance in the plant kingdom, animal kingdom and nature, the seasons are predictable. If the balance in these kingdoms is not maintained (which is not due to Global warming and excessive animal slaughtering) then nature can be unpredictable and destructing, Earthquakes, Tsunamis, floods, famines begin to occur at an alarming rate. The biodiversities that developed for thousands of years can be destroyed within months.

Early Earth

If you feel that’s terrible our earth has suffered five such mass extinction, which almost destroyed every life on earth. Earth has formed 4.543 billions of years ago. It was too hot to support any life, the first life which is single cell microbes came around 3.5 billion years ago. The life flourished evolved in the newly formed watery planet until this natural extinction nearly destroyed it. We will cover those in the next blog.

Comment down your thoughts about the blog. Suggestions are heartily welcome. To conclude I would say, to be grateful for the precious life, given by nature. For what has given can be taken away. Nature does not owe us anything, we should stop polluting it. We need to change our ways to ensure people and nature thrive.

Charles Darwin said,

“It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is the most adaptable to change.”

Journey to the edge of the universe….

Hey guys… My name is Shyam I am a student and studying software development. I’m very much passionate about science and especially physics. You can say astronomy is my hobby. I'm starting this blog to spread my curiosity about science.  Most of people hate even listening about science. Whereas some don’t like because they don’t fundamentally understand science. We humans are born explorers, ever seen an infant child trying to figure out where he or she is and who are other people…. We are born curious but something happen terribly wrong during teenage years, we lost all curiosity. People also tend to ignore the science on a daily basis because we either are too busy in our routine or else there is no spark from within to pursue the curiosity. Now you may wonder why it is important why should we care?.... because Knowledge is preferable to ignorance. Better by far to embrace hard truth then reassuring faith. Our understanding of this world helps us to survive, science ...

Differentiating AI, ML and DL

AI (Artificial Intelligence), ML (Machine Learning) and DL (Deep Learning) are the buzzwords right now. Almost everyone is talking about it right now. And every day there’s a new technique or tech-related AI is developed by people. In this blog, I’ll try to explain what the field is about and what the general difference is.  First of all these three are not separate fields, there’s a hierarchy. On the top its AI then one subset of it is ML and one subset of ML is DL. Artificial Intelligence Let’s talk about AI-first. Artificial Intelligence is an idea to develop a fully functional Intelligence with the machine. Machines are capable of doing lots of complex calculations very quickly compared to humans. The theory of AI goes way back to 1950s. The idea is to develop a thinking machine, a brain build by copper wires. Now to develop intelligence, we should define intelligence. There are two main approaches to build AI. The first one is the Sym...

Noontide

It seemed from past few days, I find myself on a slippery slope. This modern mania, the modern world is slipping away, beyond the scope. It's too late now to create my drop of honey. For what good is drop compared to the ocean. So it seemed when I looked outward and away, But when I looked inward, it's empty,  it longs for honey, for creating. But this however I found. Not by looking beyond but looking around. This pace and slipping slope, Is the mirage created by the modern globe. Everything is still, around me, Everything is still human, in me, There came in me, a dark tide. But went away in this warm noontide. Hush! the world is perfect now, In this great noontide. When modern pipers are not blowing their pipe, The sun, the tree, and the lazy brow, Hush! the world is perfect now.
